Son of Ian and Stephanie Taylor...Has one sister, Kaitlyn...Scratched on his first two jumps at the London 2012 Olympic Games before delivering in dramatic fashion to win the gold medal on his final attempt, securing the best triple jump of the year two years in a row...Won the 2011 world outdoor title with the third-best American performance of all-time and was the youngest jumper to advance to the final (21)...10-time NCAA All-American and three-time NCAA champion (outdoor-2010; indoor-2009-10)...Ruptured his Achilles at a 2021 competition in Ostrava and was unable to participate in the Tokyo Olympics...Currently recovering from surgery in Austria with his fiancée, Beat Schrott, an Austrian hurdler.
